Factory Resetting Magnavox TV With Remote

You must try a soft reset before performing the factory reset because it will wipe out all the data from the TV.

To hard reset Magnavox TV, these are the steps you need to follow.

Locate and press the “MENU/HOME” button on the Magnavox TV remote control. This will bring a list of options to your TV screen.
Here, select the “SETTINGS OR ADVANCED SYSTEM SETTINGS” option and press the “ENTER/OK” button.

Note: Some Magnavox TV remotes have an “ENTER” button while others have “OK,” so don’t be confused, as both of them are used for the same purpose.

Now, navigate down in the opened menu, select “Reset to Standard” and press “ENTER/OK.”
Select “OK” to confirm the factory reset.

By doing this, you’ll restore your Magnavox tv to factory settings and can set it up according to your requirements.

How To Reset Magnavox TV Without Remote

Don’t have your Magnavox TV remote and need to restore it to the default settings?

Magnavox TV sets are equipped with buttons that include channel control, volume, power, and menu buttons.

Follow these steps to restore Magnavox smart tv to factory settings with no remote:

Turn ON your Magnavox TV by pressing the “POWER” button.
The “POWER” button is located on the TV’s “Lower Left Side” or “Beneath” screen.
Now, press the “MENU” button to access the “MAIN MENU.”
By using the Channel control buttons, navigate through this menu.
Select the “Reset to Standard” option from the next drop-down menu.
And confirm it by selecting the “OK” option.

Reset Magnavox Smart TV Using App

If you own a Magnavox smart TV, you can even use a Magnavox app on your smartphone to reset your TV.

Simply download the app on your mobile, and this application will enable you to control Magnavox TV without a remote.

The only problem here is that this app will only work on smartphones with an IR blaster. If your phone has the IR blaster, carry on with the following steps:

Open the Magnavox phone app and tap on the “MENU” button, to access the TV “SETTINGS”
Now, locate and tap on the “TV MENU” option.
Next, scroll down and tap on the “Reset to Standard”.
Lastly, select “OK” to confirm the factory reset.

Soft Resetting Magnavox TV

Below are the step-by-step instructions on how to reset the Magnavox television. Follow them as mentioned to perform a soft reset.

Switch OFF your TV by pressing the “Power” button on the TV’s body.
Now, unplug the TV’s adapter from the power outlet.
Press and hold the “POWER” button on the TV for 1 minute.
Leave the TV as it is for five to ten minutes.
Now, turn on the TV, and that’s it.

The soft reset mostly gets rid of any minor issues like flashing colors or any other video or audio glitch. This method works 90% of the time. But then again, we need an alternative if this doesn’t help; and that alternative is restoring Magnavox TV to default settings.

How To Force Reset Your Magnavox TV

A force factory reset should only be used when nothing else works.

You can use this method when Magnavox TV keeps turning off or won’t turn on at all.

Here’s what you need to do:

Unplug the AC adapter of your Magnavox TV from the power source.
Now, press the “POWER” and “VOLUME DOWN” buttons simultaneously, and keep holding them down.
Do not let go of the buttons, and plug the adapter back into the power source.
Keep holding down the “VOLUME DOWN” and “POWER” buttons until the TV screen turns blank. It will take around 30 to 60 seconds.

Note: If the screen doesn’t go blank even after 1 minute, repeat the process from step one.

Once the screen goes blank, the TV will start the factory reset process, so stay patient and don’t touch any button.
The TV will reboot and will turn on automatically. However, if it doesn’t turn on, use the power button to turn it on.
Lastly, the welcome screen will appear, and the TV will be set to the default setting. Set up your Magnavox TV, and you are good to go.

Where Is The Reset Button On Magnavox TV?

There is not hard reset button on a Magnavox TV. However you can soft reset your television set using the Power button. Hold the button for 10-15 seconds and release it to soft reset your device.
