Resetting Dynex TV Without Remote

If you have lost your Dynex TV remote, due to some issues the TV isn’t responding to the remote control, or the screen of your TV is blank.

Try the steps given below to restore Dynex TV to factory settings. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Locate the buttons on the TV’s hardware. They are present at the back of your Dynex TV.
  • Now hold the “MENU” and “VOLUME DOWN” buttons simultaneously.
  • While still holding down these two buttons, you also need to press the “POWER” button on the TV.
  • When you do this, the blue light will light up. Don’t let go of the buttons yet; you need to wait for 10 seconds.
  • After ten seconds, you can release the “MENU” and “VOLUME DOWN” buttons while still holding down the “POWER” button.
  • Release the “Power” button and switch ON your TV, it will be restored to its default settings.

Before jumping on to the reset steps check the following things:

  • First of all, check all the cables and connections of your Dynex TV.
  • See if all the cords are plugged into the color-coded slots properly. If not, then that’s the issue, and you will not need to factory reset your television.

However, if there is no problem with the cables or connections, grab your remote and follow the next steps.

Soft Resetting or Power Cycling Dynex TV

Follow the below-given steps to quickly soft reset Dynex television:

  • Unplug the AC cable adapter of your Dynex TV, and wait for 60 seconds.
  • After 60 seconds, hold down the Dynex TV “POWER” button for 60 seconds. (While the cable adapter is still unplugged).
  • Wait for 60 seconds, and then plug the AC adapter back in the socket.
  • Now turn on the Dynex TV.

One of these methods will definitely work, but if none of these works, you need to check the main AC fuse of your TV.

There must be a problem with the transistors or the main AC fuse. Once fixed, the TV will turn on.

Note: You can get a universal remote for your Dynex TV and perform the factory reset with it.

Dynex TV Troubleshooting Tips

If your Dynex flat-screen TV isn’t broken or damaged, but you are still facing issues, then troubleshooting should be helpful. These troubleshooting tips will solve any minor trouble:

  • If your Dynex TV doesn’t have any sound, check the sound cord. See whether it is plugged in the right port properly or not.
  • Also, check the outlet and see if it’s working or not. Lastly, don’t forget that sometimes a channel itself does not have any sound, so try checking different channels as well.
  • If the visuals of your TV are too dark, then you need to check the color saturation and adjust it accordingly. You can also try adjusting the contrast and brightness.
  • The snow or unwanted noises are usually caused by some problem in the cable or antenna. Try fixing them, and the problem should definitely go away.
  • If the image on your Dynex TV is dotted or has any lines on it, you should try moving the TV away from any noisy place, especially traffic noise.
  • A double image display can be fixed by using a better-quality cable or antenna.
  • If you want to reset the parental control password, then go to the parental control settings and enter 9999. This way, you’ll be able to set a new password.
  • Lastly, if the buttons on your Dynex TV stop working, unplug the power cord for at least 60 seconds. Plug it back in the socket, and the buttons should work just fine.
